Well it looks like I'll be taking a break from my weekly postings here for a little while.

Apparently part of my new responsibilities of my job is to spend time coordinating with my counterparts in the other regional offices located in Toronto and Montreal.

Of course back in November when my company was talking about 'redundant positions', 'right-sizing' and all those other ridiculous buzz-words they use to candy-coat layoffs, these new responsibilities were mentioned to me as a critical part of our new structure.

I readily agreed to it since anything would obviously be preferable to being layed off and second, I thought that this 'new structure phase' would be months in the planning stages and then another six months plus in the rollout phase. It is always very easy to agree on a concession or accept additional responsibilities if you feel they are so far away it will probably never affect you. Well at least I did anyway.

So now here we are barely three months later and I am now being called on to do just that and it is a real pain.

I don't really mind business travel as a rule, I mean I save loads of cash with our per diem food budget, get to go out quite a bit and it is always nice to have a change of scenery. But this first instalment is going to last a few weeks and it is the middle of winter here in Canada. I can't imagine it being too pleasant out east in either Toronto or Montreal this time of year.

It is just very fortunate that I am a drinking man and weather conditions usually have a very little impact on this activity.

Anyway I'm not sure when I'll be back home so I can't really tell you when my next post will occur. Keep checking in or subscribe to the RSS or email updates if you don't have time.

See you soon!

I'm also glad to be employed and have to suck up a tad extra to stay on board...

Good luck with it. Sometimes a guy's gotta do what a guy's gotta do. That's why they made beer.
